Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles

I’m a little embarassed to admit that even as an LA native, I’ve actually never had the chance to go to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. I’ve always told others how badly I’ve wanted to go but the opportunity just never presented itself. Plus, I always thought the Hollywood location was the only location and if you live or have been to LA you know traffic dictates your life. Of course, this all changed yesterday with my first visit to RCW at the Pasadena location. It’s less than 2 miles from my house! Also kind of ironic that it’s located right next to a KFC. Roscoe's is THE tourist spot to go. I mean Obama even made a point to stop there when he was in LA so he'd seem like he was down with the people.
Check out the Sunset! A mix of lemonade and fruit punch. Each sip literally made you smile! It's pretty sweet though so beware!
A slice of corn bread. Ehhhhhh... I've had better.
Fresh biscuit. It was good but I actually like KFC's biscuits more.
Here comes the chicken and waffles! It was good. I just wish they waffles were crispier! I had made a request that they fry it longer when I ordered.
And yum, yum, yum. Chicken soaked in gravy. Somehow the skin was still crispy! You have to eat this while it’s hot though or else the gravy will get cold and turn into chunk.

My verdict? The chicken was good, but this place is definitely overrated. I would come back again but I'm not on the 'Oh my God! Roscoe's is the most amazing thing ever bandwagon!' If you want the experience, try the Hollywood location. If you just want to try the food, go to the Pasadena one. No lines!

My Taco Truck

Praise the lord! I have found THE taco truck. My taco truck. I thought I had found THE taco truck a long time ago, but last week I found another truck that just blew the previous one out of the water. This lovely truck is located in a Japanese auto shop. Awesome. Combines my loves in live-Japanese stuff and street food.

Hello there!!! I love Pastor tacos aka BBQ pork! Whenever I see it, I always have to order it. El Taquito in Pasadena knocks it out of the park though. I also like trying their beef head and beef tongue. But wait!!!! Pineapple water!!!! Yeah you heard right. Pineapple water, not pineapple juice. De-freaking-licious!!!
*Drool. Did I mention that it's open on weekends until 3 AM?
